of YG Acoustics.Did anyone listen to Carmel? It came on top against some top speakers in direct listening tests,according to their ads.Must be worth listening to even in the not so ideal conditions of an Audio Fair.Wonder if I missed it in the reports.

This is the second show I have attended where the YGs sounded lousy. I am not sure why but all three rooms were really crappy at RMAF. I assume this is a case of hotel room itis because so many people like this speaker. But I have yet to hear them sound decent.

I enjoyed the smaller Carmels more than the big un's...may only have been a difference in the music playing though. They were indeed smooth, relaxing and a joy to listen to. I find the enclosures very polarizing, I think the looks are a turn off for a lot of people. Perhaps they should do demos with the lights off, LOL
I'd still take a pair!
I found the Carmel room to be refuge from the din. There were many other good sounding rooms at RMAF (and fewer poor ones than last year, IIRC), but the Carmel's purity and lack of harshness were very attractive.
To put this in perspective, I own the Kipod Main Modules, and after a year of living with them, always find their lack of audible distortion, wonderful continuousness across the octaves, and electron microscope-like resolution to offer very SATISFYING listen sessions.
I am currently listening to them with the Aesthetix Atlas amp and Calypso Signature preamp. Voices sound so captivating.
