I would appreciate subjective opinions from those who have heard both.I have owned the Alon I and II speakers, which I enjoyed, but am considering the VR1,with sub or VR2.Any thoughts are appreciated.
The Alons can be captivating, but only in the right room.
The dipolar radiation requires careful room placement, and where they sound good may not be where yoy want to place them.
True, the VR 2 has a rear tweeter, but it is adjustable, or it can be turned off completely.
The cabinetry of VR 2 is first rate, it flat beautiful.
The VR 2 allows for sand and or lead shot filling for resonance control.
Its a tough choice between the two, and your room and listening taste will ultimately decide.
If you could please remove the roofing advertising from your signature it would be appreciated. AA doesn't allow advertising from audio manufacturers/dealers so I don't think it's fair for you to advertise your roofing business even though it is not audio related.
I own a roof cleaning business in Tampa, Florida Tom.
That would make it a wee bit difficult to clean roofs in California, dont you think ?
I sell no roof cleaning products, I only make the link availiable to show other Audiophiles what I do.
No different than DUILawyer, reviewer, etc.
I have taught several audiophiles how to clean their own roof for no charge.
Some people here master records, and are up front about it.
I clean roofs.
The chances of finding a record mastering deal here on Asylum ar as remote as me finding a roof to clean !
Several people do clean their own roof, and what better way to learn how to do it than from a fellow audiophile ?
I freely share info with my fellow hobbyists, although, I must admit, a guy in Mississippi did ask me to drive up there from Florida to clean his.
I told him that was sort of hard to do since the average roof cleaning is about 150 dollars !
If you enjoyed the Alon I and II you should listen to the new Lotus Elite and Elite Signature before buying the Von Scweikert. I've owned the II's and currently own V's with the Circe upgrades and it's my understanding they are somewhere in between and have been getting great reviews.
