Return to The Signature Sound Lounge
I have a pair of VSM gen 2's that were upgraded to the Basic. I was wondering if there are any upgrades for this version? I have the BAM also. I am not in anyway unhappy with these speakers just wondering?

Follow Ups:
With some mods to the area where the crossover board sits so that he can fit in the Hovland inductors plus a new (current) wiring harness and the cardas posts should be able to be done. Adding the Hovland inductors is the hard part becuase of the mods required - not 100% sure than can be done to the old cabinet. Other things that can be done are Z feet, 6th toe mod, and possibly changing the woofer (if yours is the older style with lesser damping). I'll be seeing Bobby at Merlin tomorrow so I will be able to check with him. The one thing that cannot be upgraded is your cabinets, but much can be done depending on budget.

We can improve things quite a bit for you. The BAM can have the battery upgrade done to it. This will allow you to use the BAM in the AC or DC mode. We can also do all of the SE and Millennium mods to your speakers including the inductor change. But, the older VSM was made of MDF and the Millennium cabinets are made of Pan Fiber. There is also a port tuning and adhesive change. These factors will have a bearing on the sound so you will achieve perhaps, 97% of what a true Millennium sounds like. In my estimation it is still worth doing because the improvement in sound will be remarkable.
Happy New Year.

Bobby thanks for your response. I will give you a call to find out if my budget can stand it.
