probably right before I heard all this and I paid top dollar. It can't be denied that his offerings aren't 100% on the up and up. The gold pin thing throws me for a loop.Anyway I've got these ECC803S from him and I've looked at these tubes 100x thinking they can't be real after seeing all these posts like this and recently had an audio bud over to the house as well. We hit the net, got some photos of the real deal Telefunken ECC803S, and came to the conclusion that they are indeed Telefunken ECC803S tubes.
Maybe I just got lucky but my one and only dealing with him seemed to okay, other than the fact that I paid too much but, I placed the bid.
Follow Ups:
I'm sure the ECC803S you purchased from him are genuine, but... I'm equally sure you paid too much for them. Also, he most likely bought them on German eBay for hundreds less. You could have done the same. There's also a good chance that he misrepresented them in some way too (test results, matching, etc.). For more about this, see HiFiBuff's post on the Tube Asylum (use link below). The bottom line is that his prices are very high, there's a good chance that he's fudging the test results (notice how his pairs of tubes almost always match perfectly, but the ones that he's buying for resale don't?) and he's scammed hundreds of buyers out of thousands of dollars. Do you really want to support a seller like that?

Based on what I learned about the guy I doubt I'll go back but the one time I dealt with him I got exactly what I anticipated. Thanks for the info on the German eBay. I need some ECC802S and I'll look around.
Of course we shouldn't judge someone who does hundreds of transactions, based on one "good" one. The same would be true if you had a bad transaction. BTW, was your purchase from him a Buy it Now or did you actually "win" an auction? If it was an auction, was it a private bidder auction? If it was a private bidder auction... well, think about it.
and I seldom do auctions. It was probably a BIN. I'm not opposed to spending extra money to get what I want and forgo the auction process. What can I say? I've seen all the bad things posted about the guy, seen the bogus auctions especially with the gold pin stuff but I did a transaction with him and got exactly what I paid for.
I know I won't take the chance again.
