Thank you. Can I do this with the preamp turned off? (I hope so.) If it needs to be powered up, is there any risk to the preamp in doing this? (Sorry for the dumb questions--I really, really do not want to risk damage to this pre.) Thanks very much! Chuck

There isn't any risk, and the preamp can be off.
