I guess we can assume that you're building a 3 stage amp?
Looking at the specs for a 10 in class A, it looks like the choke might be better used in the 15mA/160H mode. 350V on the plate, -34V of bias, and 15mA will work nicely with a 160H choke, but not so well with a 40H choke.
320V and -10V of bias or so will give you about 15mA on an 801 (or 10Y), but you'd want to throw the load line on there to ensure that your driver tube isn't drawing more grid current than your 300B.

Thanks !
I thought the choke is going to be marginal in 160H/15mA configuration since I don't know how conservatively they are rated. It's worth to try.
Yes , some form of input gain stage will be incorporated. Either Step-up 1:2 IT or just a single triode something akin to Larry Moore 6j5/VT10/300B design.

Using a siemens Ba 'Post' tube as voltage stage for this topology and go for full DHT setup.
These are truly marvelous. I use a 90K plate resistor, so you need some B+.
Run them at 3ma. Their life expactancy is extremely long.

Thank you NC. :)BUT
All my projects are usually stopped at some point because of "paralysis by analysis" and the desire to make it better. In consequence, I could have a nice, satisfying factory system playing music but of course I've blown the budget on the parts and " different directions" and listen to a "temporary" dreck for last 8 years (or is it 15 already ;?) this GOT TO STOP !! ;0)
I think I will use humble 5687 or even 6j5 for now. AN is using single 6J5 driving parallel 300B in $50k Kegon and people are ecstatic ..pSSS .don't tell anybody else about those german tubes ,they are expensive enough ....
