DC heating doesn't negate the need for a hum pot.

Edit, It just dawned on me. With those DC supplies there probably is quite a bid of ripple and worse than that, not sinusoidal but saw tooth.I always think in terms of my DC filament supplies (critical LCRC) with sinusoidal ripple of .0012 volts peak to peak.

Smoke it and see.
Try a bridge/big cap feeding a 300B, then hook it up to a scope or annoyingly efficient speakers.
On the last Wavac 300B amp that I serviced, trimming the hum pots was essential to obtain the lowest noise level, and this had a set of filament supplies consisting of a chassis mount bridge and large cap soldered to it, much like the OP's link.
I did also check to see if the pots were perfectly centered, and they were not.
