The problem with this type of question is the variables matter, some tubes are better in certain amplifiers than others. I've used the W.E. reissue 300b and it was clearly outperformed by the EML XLS, Sophia Royal Princess and the Japanese Takatsuki. In oth r r amp/system the results could be different. You must also factor in the individual preference of sound character the listener seeks.EML is a very high quality built and sounding tube. The western Electric reissue was disappointing and overrated in my experience.

Greg, in your amp TJ 300b's may be an excellent choice.

When I saw the two pairs, I had to click on your system thinking you either had a PP 300B or the "ultimate" back up plan. :-)
Your speakers caught my eye. I use Guarneri Homages in one of my systems and alternate powering them with PP and SE 300B amps and really like the results. Just about any amp I've put in front of the GH's has resulted in a sound I'm very happy with but I like the 300B flavor the most. Special speaker indeed.
What do you think of the GH's?
