I'm looking for a recommendation for someone on the west coast (closer to the NW even better)
who could repair a Wavac MD-811A. I don't have a schematic (and the current dist, doesn't have one) so I'm not sure how hard it will be.
Thanks,
Steve

WAVAC sure treated me good when my md300b needed repair sent me a brand new amplifier.
Kloss, did you go thru the distributor? I tried Wavac's website as you suggested but couldn't get the contact page to send a notice. The current distributor made it sound like this amp was ancient ("you'll probably need to replace all the electolytics") and that the cost could very likely equal the value of such an old amp. He just didn't impress me as being too interested in dealing with it.
Steve
I recall directly contacting WAVAC wish you luck.
Are you on the east or west side of the mountains? (I would guess east by the e-mail address)
At the bottom of the article (link below) there is a circuit; not clear if it's the same exact amp but it's a Shishido 811A IIT-coupled design.
as the 811a MUSIC DANDY. I had a pair of them but could never get a proper schematic from WAVAC but the driver tube was a 6Y6 I think.
The amps are basically very simple. I would think any GOOD tech should be able to fix them.
East, but west is fine... I have a tasting room there too. Gotta be covered for all those people that won't do the drive.

You are welcome to PM me, I may be able to get her up and rolling again for you.
I think you have PM turned off. My email is steve@trustcellars.com
Consider contacting WAVAC Japan
