Hi all,
I need some help on finding some output transformer for my 845 amp project. I have found some with the input impedence, frequency, and wattage I was looking for but they don't list the max voltage. I will be running the B+ at or around 1k Vdc. desired output power will be 15-20 watts.
My budget is around $800 for the matched pair but can hold off if price is more to gather the funds.
I was looking at James Transformers and I sent them an email asking what the max voltage rating is But never got an reply back. I also asked Edcor, theirs are 1000VDC MAX. I will be running the B+ at or around 1K VDC.
any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

This company makes a wide range of output transformers and interstage transformers, including a SE transformer for the 845. They can also do custom transformers.
I don't have any personal experience with their products. I know that some serious builders have used their transformers for really high voltage applications like transformers for 845 and 833 amps.
Give Jack Elliano ( Electra-print audio ) a call. He has 20+ years of experience building output transformers. I have used his transformers for years and very happy with his products. Jack can also supply transformers with solid silver wire or silver plated wire. Plus they are made in Las Vergas NV.
Try Kevin at K&K Audio. He sells Lundahl transformers and can suggest
the best transformer for your needs.

Insulation strength for 1kV B+ 845 output transformer should be around 3kV at least. Technically, not a problem. IMHO any transformer from reputable manufacturer have these design spec in mind.
