I have the same set-up and love it. It is paired with his Gen II preamp and the rig sounds great to me. Will
He must know about this stuff.

I'll have to ask Don...... The KT88 monos have adjustable feedback, but I have the setting at its very minimum. (I do not own a 300B amp.)

One mfr claims that there is distortion that you can't negate through NFB. It occurs at very low output levels (before the NFB can work) and is the highly audible.
Is this true?

By the way, are you still involved with lacrosse? Numerous friends of mine played in prep school and several played in college. My son started in 2nd grade and still plays (club) at Hampden-Sydney College. Attack and long pole middie. Will
That's great to hear...a proud dad.
I was with a start up team in MA 1955 as a 7th grader, then helped start a college lacrosse team in the 60s in CO and now Denmark. I am nowhere near as good as some of the Grand Masters i have met in the UK who are still playing their 70s! Those that can't run that fast can shoot the wings off a dragon fly at 20M, pretty incredible.

I am having one of those Mondays and may have misunderstood the question...Don uses tube rectification in the 300b in lieu of solid state. He may offer SS but my unit as well as the one mentioned here use tube. With that in mind, I am happy with the sound. I also have an AN Oto SE and like it as well. 300b SET vs EL 84 SE ???? I am extremely pleased with the sound and quality of both. It will be hard to go wrong with anything designed and built by Don. I own Don Allen equipment as well as Audio Note equipment and I highly recommend both. Will
I didn't mean electrical sense, but I see I posted a very confusing question, given the context. Feeback in the thoughts, opinions, observations sense.
Thanks!
