Tragic, especially when someone's in a dark place they can't get out of.

I always wonder how bad it must get to bring someone to that place? I feel sorry for his family and especially his wife who witnessed it. I saw them perform several times. Twice when Barry and Duane were still alive. A excellent live band. RIP Butch
Such a nice, gentle and intelligent man, too. Remarkably well-read and able to intelligently discuss John Locke and T.S. Eliot. He talked about how he was plagued with self-doubt but Duane Allman, who didn't have much patience with self-doubt, dragged him out of it and pushed him to fulfill his potential. Duane's death clearly left a big hole in a lot of lives.

all the best,
