This is exactly what you want:

Thanks for the link Ethan.
Now I have a more basic question. It seems there are several types of diffusors: aside from the curvy surface type which I am not particularly interested in, there's the "skyline" type such as the RPG (whether made of wood or plastic), and the channel type such as the Core Design AD-2 and the Real Trap Diffusor.
Does one type sound better than the other, or is one more suitable for some applications than the other? I am also curious why the Real Trap Diffusor is so expensive. The other Real Trap products offer good value compared to the competition, so I assume there is more to the Diffusor than meets the eye. Any guidance here would be appreciated. Thanks!
Dave
You can go to the Decware site and buy their QRD plans. I opted to buy their channel diffusor kits and they work well.
Dave,
For most applications I prefer a 1-dimensional diffusor because it scatters sound more strongly, if you will, in those directions rather than "waste" the energy sending it up toward the ceiling or down toward the floor. On a ceiling a 2D skyline type can be more useful. But ceiling diffusors are more common in recording rooms than in listening rooms.
The RealTraps Diffusor sold for $500 until we recently raised it by $100 out of necessity. Even at $600 it costs less than RPG's 2x4 foot model, and ours is also a bass trap which is a huge feature. This is a very difficult and time-intensive device to build! At $500 we barely made enough to make it worth producing. That may seem hard to believe, but it's true. Material cost alone is well over $100, and it takes two workers more than two hours to build each one.
