Greetings,While looking for OC 705 fiberglass for building DIY acoustical panels, I found this:
http://www.knauffiberglass.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=prd.dspProdDetail&ID=12
and it can be found in my neck of the wood.Does anybody knows if it is as good as OC 705 ? What is the density of the OC 703 ? Can we use it the same as with the OC ?
I ask because it is twice cheaper than the OC 705...

You can see the absorption coefficients for a few types of rigid fiberglass in my Acoustics FAQ:
www.ethanwiner.com/acoustics.html

3 pounds per cubic foot.
Also follow the link from my FAQ to my Density report.
I'll mention that when comparing different materials from different vendors you should ignore small changes - maybe less than 20 percent. Even though acoustic labs are certified and calibrated, they still can vary quite a lot.
Thanks M Winer for your answers. I will buy the Knauf product, since it is much cheaper for about the same properties than the OC.
