Thank you. The sound is somewhat better if I move my ears forward the back wall. I guess I'll invest $20 in a folding camp chair with a cupholder in the armrest.

In the future, I'll be trying speakers with thinner bass. Quad 11L is top of the list, although I'm reluctant to go with a rear-port since I'm 16" from the back wall.

I was hoping there was more that could be done to tune my room (other than move), but your advice here and in speaker asylum was both informative and useful.
