If the hum is caused by DC then it's quite effective.
I was hoping someone might be able to comment on the impact (improvement?) to overall sonics that have resulted from using a humbuster or isolation transformer before a PPP. Is anybody living with a solution like this?

I can tel you that most folks I talk with (including myself) find the sound better through the HB than without it. The interesting thing we see is that a growing number of folks are adding HB's to their systems for sonic reasons, not necessarily hum based reasons. Odd, but it does seem to help.
Thanks Paul, that is interesting. I'm as concerned with the physical vibration associated with the hum as I am with the noise itself. Even though I've had difficulty getting an opinion on mains borne DC in Australia (the designer of my cabling, who also makes power conditioners, says he has never come across it) I think the only way to go is to try a humbuster.
