There is no hype concerning the HRx. They are extremely user-friendly with your Mac. Convert to AIFF and import into iTunes. The HRx are copies of the master.
Linn's stuff are high-rez files, but I don't know if they are copies of the master.

Well, first of all, if I have to convert files it's not my idea of user friendly, especially since I'm sure I have to install software to do the conversion. I.e., it doesn't "just work." And the description on the HRx folks' site doesn't make it sound simple.
But in the interest of being informed, suppose someone does what you suggest. Then what? I thought you downloaded high resolution WAV files and burned them to DVDs, although I seem to recall reading on the HRx site that they sell their music already burned to DVD. (It sounds like they just burn them individually as they're ordered.)
I thought the point of downloadable music was to be able to put it on some kind of "server" device, whether that be an iPod or a real, honest-to-goodness server connected to your audio system so the whole disk thing went away. If I have to burn DVDs, I still have disks, but now they're cheap-looking homemade disks.
