I've been thinking of putting together a portable recording rig to record symphonic music at the symphany halls when I go. I came across this interesting Fostex FR-2. I've also seen stereo mics that attatch to eye glasses. I have no knowlege/experience with recording. Does anyone have any thoughts to this idea? What are the difficulties I should be aware of?

The Fostex seems like a BIG thing to be dragging around to, I presume, clandestinely record concerts. Personally I'd go for something like one of the new HD minidisk recorders, that are teeny and can record uncompressed WAV files, or AAC compression. The mics you wear on your glasses are little omni condenser mics. They sound OK and could get you some cool binaural effect, but probably not up to "professional" recording standards.
