I have a situation where I am trying to integrate a sub into my audio set up. Currently I am running a EMM Switchman 111 and a Linar Audio 250i power amp. I am trying to add a Genelec 7070A sub and am running into a problem. It almost seems as if I have an incompatibility with the XLR connectors on the equipment. The line up is as follows;EMM 1 gnd Linar 1 gnd 7070A 1 gnd
2 + 2 - 2+
3 - 3+ 3-I have had no problem running the Linar and Emm units together even though they seem to be out of sync as far as pins config go. I added in the 7070A by going from the Emm preamp to the sub and out of the sub to the power amps. No signal is present. I went direct to the sub from a dvd player LFE out and was able to generate output. Any ideas as to why the balanced through connection isn't working? Do I need to get XLR's wired specifically to mate with the the pin differences? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
