Sounds very interesting. I've been making "pure" DSD recordings for about 18 months now, since purchasing my Genex GX9000. Unfortunately, for my local / indie clients, the final product has always been converted down to red book CD. But we had some great times listening to the master recordings prior to conversion to PCM. Now Tascam has introduced their new DV-RA1000, a DVD recorder that can store DSD files on DVD! Finally, I will be able to archive 2 track DSD master recordings!I managed to completely miss the DV-RA1000 at the SF AES show a couple of months ago. I hope someone can give this new box a serious listen at either CES or the upcoming NAMM show. I really want to know if this thing lives up to its promise?

Hi Steve,
I am totally hooked on the fidelity of dsd. I have one of the dv-ra1000 units on order, it is super cool,I saw it at aes. I'm betting that it will ultra hi-fi and bullet-proof. I have 5 of the ds-d98hr dsd tape recorders and 4 tascam cdr-2000 machines, so my confidence is based on this combined experience that tascam really understands dsd files and disc recording, so they put the two together to make the dv-ra1000.
glad to hear from you. give me your address and i'll send you some of my recording experiment discs.
kind regards ray

Ray / Steve,
I was going a search and ran across your posts. I was wondering if you guys did get the DV RA1000? If so, how do you like it?I am considering one, to either replace or supplement the decks I currently use to do live to 2 track: a CDRW 2000 or the Sony CDRW66.
Thanks for any info and or comparisons you can provide.best regards
JOhn
