Thanks for the vote for the Furman! I was checking this unit out at Musician's Friend as a possible solution.

Do you have any experience with how it performs compared to the audiophile (read overpriced) conditioners?

I currently have a Furman conditioner in my recording station, and it seems to help, particularly with the piece of mind issue.
