I wish I would have thought of that one! -Nice fast slew rate, but better noise figures than the OPA2604.The 2604 is approx. twice as noisy as a 5532 I recall, but the 275 is almost as quiet as the 5532. -There should be very few situations that this one won't work well.
I still heartily recommend step-by step blind testing, however. -Too many people just bang a load of new chips in and tell themselves it must be better. -On more than a few times I've found myself asking:
"How do you like your new clothes, Emperor?" ;-)

Keith-I think the noise spec you mention is only a factor if you use the OPA 604 as the first stage of a mic pre. I've used it in many applications, from mixers to A/D inputs, and find its sound quality to be great. Another great one is the OPA 627(at 6 times the price!). BTW, both of these IC's can run on 24 volt rails.
