Can't wait to get home and delete some more!
I did not use XPLite so I figured there was stuff on my list that TAHT took away.
I assume you have got rid of the USB drivers?
Add to your cmpEXtreme bios disabling the all of the USB. Yes, you have to short the pins to restart but if gives you the screen with the BIOS choices so it not that big a deal to restart.
Bye,
Yes I tried leaving usb in but it hung up on boot so I disabled all usb in bios and it booted fine. I have stuff in system 32 and drivers that you dont. But as I recall juli@ would not work w/o setupapi and prodspec and pschdprf but that was in xp. Maybe its different in cmp mode. You dont use moushid and your ps/2 mouse works? If so maybe I'll try. Also you dont use lanmandrv and I do. There are about 6-8 others but I cant remember their names now. Did you try the nopae boot.ini changes
? That is only one I have not done. Also I deleted all the files I put back in to make cut&paste from a thumb drive work. Does not make sense to leave in that stuff since I cant get back to xp anyway. I guess I'll load new music to the hd directly or by reloading my last good xp image via Snapshot.
After getting used to the sonics I really like it now.
as far as files differences.
I need to take a new SNAPSHOT and that will be a good time to re-check my work.
Yes, I do think cMP ONLY has changed everything. Most for better but certainly a bit of a negative for convenience. If we wanted convenience we would have left all of this alone. But once you hear what this can do it is an easy compromise to make.
I did make the changes to boot.ini. I have not made any comparisons between the "new" one and the old one. I do know I am very pleased with where this is going.
I have found something that allows changing registry entries on the cMP HDD from another computer.
Thanks, again,
