At this stage, where there seems nothing more left to delete or change, & windows sits around 50mb, arises another question. I have been using a cordless mouse throughout this project, & now it seems like it is left alone without siblings. The system does not accept any other mouse, be it USB (corded or cordless) as well as ps2. I guess the HID service had been stopped before services were deleted along the route. What if this mouse stops working at a later date? There seems no chance at that stage but to re-build with the default settings & re-do all the optimisations. Has anybody any experience about this???

to settle on which mouse early on.
In my experience there is nothing you can do, especially now.
Consider starting over with the PS2.
To really go for broke once all is settled and BIOS optimized you can delete USB in BIOS!
Rick, I'm unable to understand the last line u wrote..
Can u explain what it meant..?

all of the USB entries.
No polling worries after that!
I have tried it (at Grant's suggestion (cgwaudio)) and though subtle I thought it was worth the trouble.
Of course, it could make for pain in the event of a power failure! But without pain how can one call themselves an audiophile? As someone remarked at the beginning of the CD era how audiophiles would find a way to make playing CD's as inconvenient as playing LPs (properly) and I think we can say we have achieved this goal/prophesy. Exceeded it, actually!
Have you tried Serge's BIOS regimen?
Hi all
my experience is the same of jolida but I can add an interestin "USB memory" effect. After step 7, i cannot remember at which stage, we lost USB use. If you, like me, use the batch steps keeping connect one HDD or two, and the mouse/keyboard wifi thumb, they will continue to work until the end of deletions without any problem but only and solely in that precise USB port where they are connected. So you'll can decide of disconnect and reconnect the device but only in his old position.
Interesting and useful, I think
But are u able to use a different mouse other than the one u have been using all this way???? My concern is not with the port, but with the mouse itself. Will we be able to get a new mouse to work, just in case the present one gets damaged???

No, I' don't think, only an identical model of mouse.
Otherwise you must redo everything from the start.
Bless Acronis ( or other backup and restore system) and your batch files!
I'll try, I get some different type of wifi mouse. It could be easy to try if they works or not
Bought an exact model of the mouse I'm using to test it. No luck. Doesn't work. I presume we need to enable the HID service again to recognise it once. To do that, Services.msc needs to work, which again demands restoring files that support it..
