I have bought a Fit-PC2 Ultra.
Wise choice! I've been using the rather slower 1GHz, single-core Fit-PC2 for over two years now. Though it can be a bit sluggish at browsing, it never falters when playing and I've yet to find anything better sound-quality wise. Note that the Atom cannot upsample to 192KHz using cPlay.
I can't say whether Win 7 beats XP using stock drivers but suspect that, if your DAC has bespoke ones or you use the likes of the AQVOX, the difference is negligible.
One point you may want to bear in mind is that the user base (and thus the number of people who can offer support on this forum) for cMP/XP setups is much wider than for cMP/Win7 ones.

Thanks Dave. Sensible advice. I think I will stick with SP2 XP.
I am using a M2Tech Evo based DAC which does have proprietary Windows drivers. Will that work OK with CPlay?
Jonathan
Will [the M2Tech Evo] work with cPlayIf its driver is ASIO-compatible, almost certainly Yes. If for some reason it doesn't work with cPlay, you can always use a player such as Foobar. Not quite as good as cPlay but closer IMHO than some suggest.

- No. The drivers M2Tech Evo do not support ASIO. cPlay does not define M2Tech Evo with drivers ASIO4ALL also.

Damnit!
Would the new ASIO2WASAPI driver from levm also not work?
I did not try driver ASIO2WASAPI. I heard for the first time about it from you now. Unfortunately I already gave M2Tech Evo therefore check up its operation with this driver I can not.

Serge - I am pleased to say that the ASIO2WASAPI driver works very well with CPlay on my M2Tech Evo USB interface.
Many thanks levm.
