Inmates! To finish with windows tweaking at last, I suggest to (finally) revert to start cmp not start xp mode of cmp. This way several very dirty and important files can be removed at last. I know that in the frenzy of removing I have removed some file that is necessary for start cmp option to work. Someone here even killed his cmp because of this file. So my plea is WHAT FILEs are necessary to start cmp from boot up? Also, Does CMP allow to RESTART, not shutdown computer.
Please, help me find the fileS necessary. Is it shutdown.exe? Any other file?
Serge

I had this same problem. Could not remember exactly but I remember someone mentioning this so I re-inserted reg.exe and I can start in cMP!
Here these files

My cMP2: Windows XP SP2, Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H, Intel Core i3-530, Corsair CM3X160C9DHX 1GB, system drive - Transcend IDE FLASH MODULE TS2GDOM40V-S, ESI Juli@, full linear PSU, NAS - WD My Book Live, iPad
My memory indicates you need at least winspool.drv plus shutdown.exe. Maybe more but I dont recall any others.
