Can I download Itunes to my Windows PC and then use Itunes to rip to AIFF on the external hard drive? If yes, does any place have the step by step instructions? I want to get started before I pick up a mac mini if possible.
Thank you for your patience and expertise
Frank
reading comprehension fail. facts are facts, they can not be changed. Also, don't you think it is easier to rip only once instead of doing it twice because no one told you that Windows and OSX have two different disk formats?
nice try though, come back and try again.
this was supposed to be a reply to charles down below.
well, perhaps I should add this caveat to my post a few seconds ago...
Perhaps it IS possible, however, the external would need to be reformatted for OSX at some point, either erasing all your music, or you would need to find an interim holding place for it while the external drive is being reformatted, then copy the files over.
Well, you can, but... I have found that ripping CDs with Max on my Mac, produces better sounding music than ripping with iTunes.
I am pretty sure Max is OSX only.
What happened? Now you are trying to make things hard for a newcomer!
