Not being one overly flush with cash, I must say I think you should, also, buy the components you need to do this right.

It is simply not that expensive compared to what it would cost to, (MAYBE?)have the same level of performance. Stop trying to make the silk purse out of the sow's ear. Your old computer will do for you what it has always but you need to have a dedicated machine for listening to music with extraordinary resolution.

I think the dedicated machine should NEVER be connected to the internet, EVER.

You have heard a glimpse of what is possible. I suspect there is a considerable improvement awaiting you.

I do not know exactly what you need but there is the possibility of getting a NEWEGG account which would allow six months, no interest. Splitting what you need for this into six payments would make it a little easier. That is what I did for my initial foray into the ART OF COMPUTER TRANSPORTS. Since then I have piecemeal replaced every piece in following cics's discoveries, but I ended up with another computer for other uses, the opposite of your situation! Think how lucky you are to get in this when it has reached such a high state of refinement.

Quit dilly dallying and follow your instincts. This is worth a sacrifice.
