I can only admit to the given description of the audible outcom, the "cPlay 1 0 Final SSSE3" version brings. Yesterday I could visit alfred (sonics). He had installed the version and it was impressing. Alfred and me know each other for several years. He was the person, who's input triggered me to start with PC for audio. I find it extremly exiting, what happend for me with cMP in a relativ short period. Looking forward to get the Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L after my holidays. I like encourage everybody to have a PC dedicated to music only. The return will be beyond expectation. At least it was for me. Walter

  There's cleaner CPU power delivery and this mobo allows for OC to 1600 FSB which means underclocking could potentially give better results.

    Should I order this( Gigabyte's GA-EG31M-S2) or Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L? Are they similar size wise?

    Hi cics,

    I am using the GA-G31M-S2L with the E7200 in my new setup but my friend Andre is using the GA-EG31M-S2. He has not been able to lower the CPU clock below 266, any lower and the board doesn't boot, which required a BIOS reset. The same with the RAM timings, he can't reach 2.0 to get the 3-3-3-9 latencies, the best was 4-4-4-10. In addition, when we communicated with Gigabyte's tech support we were never able to get them to understand we were trying to under-clock the board and they said we should use the default settings! He has now ordered the GA-G31M-S2L and will use the other board for other kinds of tests which we will talk about later.

    As I get mine optimized (After reinstalling XP for the 3rd time!), I will post more here as well.
