Diversity, not identity is the law of nature. What makes you think that the two files are identical? At the very least, they are stored in different locations. The miracle, and if it occurs it is an engineering miracle, is not that the two files sound different, it is that they sound the same. As with all things, perfection may be sought, but never attained. Computer programmers will not understand what I am saying, but computer engineers will.

"Computer programmers will not understand what I am saying, but computer engineers will."
Computer hardware engineers exist merely to provide an as-close-to-perfect-as-possible platform for the software that runs on those computers. Even if they achieve perfection some day, the work done by their perfectly engineered hardware is entirely dependent on the software written by computer software engineers. Most programmers realize early-on that they cannot assume that the device their software is running on is well-engineered, so they must take steps to make their software as "bullet-proof" as possible in order to provide as "perfect" an experience as possible for the users. Therefore, perfection (from the users perspective, which is the only part that matters) from a computer can only be achieved by the people who write the software for it. Hence, the only people involved in the creation of computer-based solutions that can truly understand perfection are the software engineers, not the guys playing around with the circuit boards. 8P
