be sure it sounds better to you one way or another if you haven't even experienced both yet?And if/when you do please share your placebo effect experiences with the forum. And oh, remember to be specific as to how one outdoes the other since we audiophiles are pretty anal. Also when doing the a/b please remember to use the same power cord, ic's, speaker cables, sound card, pc operating system, usb cable, matter of fact the same computer. You must also use a spl meter from radio shack to measure sound level to "match" too. And be sure to tell us about your listening room, how far away your seat is, room treatments, bass traps. Btw, how is the electrical grounding in your house? Any loops that may hinder the sound at all?
Again BE SPECIFIC so we forum members can substantiate whether by passing k-mixer is or isn't superior exclusive of all associated equipment and surrounding environment.

How can you be sure that "Atomic Theory" is correct ? It is after all, a theory, a working model. Can you verify that electrons, protons & neutrons exist ? Your only proof would be what you've read. You make a choice to believe it or not based on your own (highly questionable) intellect. The short answer is that he trusts the opinions of others. It's sort of like reading a science textbook. Here's a clue as to how it might work dimwit: maybe he's read posts by others in this forum (you've noticed that people discuss things here right ?) maybe he's determined that person X seems to know what s/he's talking about. Maybe he decides that that person is worth listening to...& believing. Maybe this person does not want to question atomic theory. Maybe this person is content that someone else did the work and reported on it.
I'll tell you right now that re-sampling destroys the HDCD coding on music that I listen to. With the corresponding level change, it is definitely audible and sounds worse.
You've got your own opinions on things like anyone else. The laughable thing is that you try to present your opinions as truth by trying to pose as someone with a brain.
BTW krisgel never said anything about kmixer sounding better or worse.
the effects of kmixer are very real and very easy to demonstrate. Play a tune with a program that uses asio to bypass it. Then play the same tune with the same program without the asio plug-in. No need to change cables etc. The difference is immediately obvious. If you can't hear it then get a boom box, save yourself a lot of money, and be happy.

...then you, sir, are definately in the wrong forum.Try propeller head plaza. Your 2-dimensional version of audio objectivism will undoubtedly make you some new friends over there...
Have a great day.

People say it like it's a bad thing. "Placebo" literally translates to "I shall please". I've spent a decent amount of money on things that should have no perceptible effect that have turned out to have a big effect because I want them to. I know that using ASIO or a jitter box really probably isn't doing that much, but I hear it anyway -- and it's a very real improvement. The zillion-dollar cable industry makes a mint off of the placebo effect... but do people care that they're deluding themselves?I sure don't, as long as I'm getting the best sound I have yet. I don't spend megabucks on cables or room treatments because I'm too skeptical of them, but I'll take ASIO, the Monarchy DIP, tube rolls, what-have-you, any day of the week. All of these things do affect the sound, probably to a not-that-great degree... but the mind makes something really special from those tiny cues.
I don't see how anybody could reject euphonic mind tricks out of hand just because they're mind tricks. Trust your brain and it will treat you well. Just as long as you're aware of the effect, the sky's the limit.
