Ayre provides a nice starting point on their website. It will use their Ayre QB-9 DAC as an example but it applies to others as well.

I got some truncated bits. Fortunately, this was just on one album. I think if I had used some other SW, I would have been fine. (I posted about this on the Music forum at the time it happened.)
Anyway, I now just play the WAV files back natively, keeping them away from iTunes. (It's really not necessary - and although iTunes will play back WAV files, I use HQ player for this purpose). I believe that although WAV and AIFF formats are roughly equivalent, AIFF does a better job with the meta data associated with the file(s).
I've read about that too about converting WAV to AIFF. But is that also the case when ripping CDs directly to WAV?
I've been ripping CDs to AIFF or ALAC from the beginning of time. ;-)
I never had a problem with ripping CDs to either.
I don't know, I've never tried it. I use AIFF.
iTunes does have a setting for ripping CD's to WAV so give it a try.
Preferences > General > Import Settings.
My Korg DAC won't read AIFF for some reason, so I use WAV.
Seems fine, but the Ayre Link said Aiff was the way to go, didn't mention WAV.
No biggie, but Thanks!
Well, you just have to do some experimenting. There is no one "right way" to setup your system. You'll have to tailor yours to your particular needs. Enjoy.

how to get sound guide only.So why don't you make a contribution by replying to him with your helpful insight and vast experience? Hmm?
Or are you still banging your head against the wall trying to figure out the difference between a "Power PC" and a PC Workstation... even after you've been told several times that you do not have a "Power PC"?

You clearly will not even try understand the significance of this question by the poster. Anyone can follow an Ayre or a W4S or whatever guide.
....to Frihed89 were you unable to comprehend? Let met say it again."Ayre provides a nice starting point on their website."

you reinterpreted his question, not me
you reinterpreted his question, not me.
Who reinterpreted his question?
He asked about Mac and you rambled on about Windows! Hilarious! ROTFLMAO !!
read properly, this explains many things
Are you so embarrassed at your blunder that you deleted your own post to hide the evidence?
Many of us saw it, you know. The one where you called the help around here a bunch of 'wankers' then directed Frihed89 to the CA site? You then blabbered on about Windows instead of helping him with his Mac question.
Why would you even reply to a Mac question when you've never owned one and have no clue about Mac OS?
Caught! Are you still blushing in embarrassment?
