Does anyone still have one of these? I have a 2011 unit purchased just prior to their demise. It has Snow Leopard and I can't seem to update the OS. It has the SSD and a HDD also.
It still works fine but certainly needs an upgrade!!
Any ideas/suggestions appreciated.

Do you have any idea what a used Mach2Music mini is worth these days? I'm wondering if you would be better off selling what you have and buying newer hardware.
The sure fire way is to take out the hard disk and install the new OS onto a new one. This way, you can compare SQ between the 2.
If you have reliable and I mean reliable image back up software, you can do so with your existing HD. But they might have done something that makes this more risky.
If you decide to go this way, post the result.
The 2011 Mac Mini CAN be updated to the latest Mac OS "El Capitan". Is it attached to your network and the internet over hardwired Ethernet? One option should be to update over the internet. The other is to download the latest OS image and create a bootable USB thumbdrive from which you can install the latest OS.[EDIT]: If you plan to keep whatever OS mods were done for you by Mach2 Music, you're kind of at their mercy. If you simply want to start over with a fresh new OS install, you should be able to do that but you'll lose whatever OS mods Mach2 Music did to your Mini.

Might help.
Earlier Mac Mini's are far more 'upgradeable' that current stock.
I believe he is talking about updating the OS rather than the hardware.

or would update 2010 or later Mac Mini if you sent it to them. Who knows what else they did?

...as it's not a stock Mini with his own DIY mods. You're right. Unless the OP doesn't mind going to a stock OS install, he's at the mercy of whoever sold him the upgraded Mini.
It looks like they may have used used a Mac Mini with two drives (HD and SSD?) which would mean that there may be folks out there in 'Mac Mini Audio World' who could do some magic with it.
I know a guy in Colorado who does Audiophile Mac Mini Mods who could be contacted if the OP is interested.
The guy did mine and I am super happy with it.
Well, I think the fundamental point remains. He said he wanted to update the OS.
He either installs a new stock OS starting over on his own, or finds a Mac Mini magician (or Genius!) who will have to do the same thing. Heck, he can take it to an Apple Store or an independent and they can do a new OS install.
But.... whatever 'optimizations' were performed under his present very old Snow Leopard OS will be lost.
Even if he formatted his current HDD/SSD and started over (recommended), it CAN BE updated from scratch with the latest OS unless the Mini is broken. But trying to hang on to any previous OS optimizations is probably a lost cause.
Thanks to all who offered valuable suggestions and ideas.
As it stands now, something is preventing any "messing" with the OS. I'm sure this is as intended so as to keep the mods they made intact. But thing have improved since 2011 and I need to upgrade.
It is also preventing any screen sharing with my iPad Pro - can't even see it - even on the same network.
I guess the way to go is re-format both drives and start from scratch.
