I've sold stuff on Asylum Trader (last was a Oppo HA-1 DAC/Headphone Amp) but I would have never DARED to mention the fact here even in passing for fear of being banned for life (what's left of it).
As for Cut-Throat's link to the sale of a uRendu on a competitive site, I think an exception could easily be justified in this case as the context of his post was clearly NOT to boost the sale of the uRendu on a competitive site but to Troll all of the folks here who have been raving about how great it is. ;-)
Sorry, couldn't resist.
I'll go now.

I think he was just letting people know. I don't think he is a troll.
Yes, it was a trolling post. You are unaware of the posting history.
I disagree. It's refreshing to hear opposing viewpoints rather than trying to sift through the same ol' shills. I don't know how anyone could witness the plethora of computer audiophile gizmos and not have some degree of skepticism.
I bought one of these cheaper USB gizmos. The result was equivalent to a slight increase of the dial on the treble. I actually turned my treble down in response, as I found it too bright. A waste of $150, other than the education of it.
"Shills"? Care to be specific?

What device? With what DAC, what gear?
This type of bullshit internet innuendo is nonsense.
If I had wanted to be specific, I'd have done so upfront. I am not interested in harming a specific manufacturer's sales. But I do believe caution is warranted with these products. The hyperbole on these forums is often just that, and in some cases, the "shill" title is warranted.
It was a widely lauded USB enhancer. The near universal acclaim finally broke me, so it was disappointing to find the results as previously stated.
What is your point? Are you blaming others for a purchase you made of your own free will that did not sound good in your system?
Can't take responsibility?
When buying bread at the market "caution" should be exercised. Glad you are standing up to defend the poor, victimized audiophiles who might be "cheated" out of $150.
You don't list your system, just more unsubstantiated crap.
Dear Lord.

My original point, was that I do not find Cutthroat's posts to be "trolls", as you labeled them. I found them to be a rare point of contention with the typical sea of glowing reviews for these USB products. And yes, some of these glowing "reviews" are "shills". It is naive to believe otherwise. All of them? Of course not, and I did not say they were.
As for more details, I already explained I'm not interested in disparaging a manufacturer. As for my system? I like my anonymity. I'm sure you have enough self-awareness to realize that there are a lot of nuts on the internet.
So let us recap:You bought an UN-NAMED product because of UN-NAMED internet "shills" that sounded bad on your UN-NAMED system.
And you won't name them because you don't want to "offend" a manufacturer.
What a hoot.

I doubt that's the interpretation of most folks reading these posts, but to each his own... Best regards.
