"Who the hell still downloads "physical" files if you can even call them that? "I think a lot of people do. I still occasionally download new release 'hi-res' albums. Tidal and the like stream at CD quality at best and you pay a monthly fee to listen. I'm sure it's wonderful but I'm not there yet with subscribing. If there's an album that I really want, I'd rather pay for the 'hi-res' download and keep it in my local library.

"Lossy hi Rez" seems to be an oxymoron.
"Lossy Hi-res" is an accurate description. Read the papers going back a long time on what this means.

I use bandcamp.com a lot for real music from real musicians, for the hollywood shit I use tidal.
