being that I am a linux fan with old i3 NUC that I use as my htpc and general purpose pc.
I am curious about how all this pi stuff is configured and assembled together.
Would you care to share a more detailed setup for someone like me. I do not want a bunch dongles, dood dads, and such all tied in and around my system, making things unnecessarily cluttered . Feel free to message me please.
I am looking to get my audiopc part of my system going, but without all the nonsense of the peripherals and such.
I have been intrigued with the Rpi line and understand they have a good support group and enthusiasts at the forums.
Would I be better asking there?
Thanks!

Thanks Dave!
I'll write something up on my blog.
A great place to start are e.g. the user forums of Moode Audio, Volumio or Rune, or PicorePlayer.
Each of them provides an image which you simply copy to SD card.
Then you need a Pi and the DAC. The DAC you just stick on top of the PI.
Then you can power up that combo with any powerful 5V USB charger for the
beginning. A better power supply can be added later on.
Configuration of any of those distros you do via Web Browser.
That's basically it.
It shouldn't take more than an hour to get going.
I'll get around to researching it to death then order the parts.
thanks again for your reply.
