Dedicated Apple Mac Mini controlled by a MacBook Air over Ethernet via Screen Sharing.
Mac Mini (WiFi and BlueTooth disabled in hardware) in the main system streaming TIDAL via Ethernet, configured for AirPlay and sending the stream out onto the home network via Ethernet to the WiFi hub to an Airport Express next to my chair in the living room one floor below. From the Airport Express to my Audio-GD Master 11 DAC/Headphone amp via Lifatec SilFlex Glass Optisilk mini-TOSLINK cable.
No USB Doodads or Dookickies in the chain anywhere, which is a bit of a disappointment.
And yet, it sounds a lot better than I thought it would.
Also streamed some CD rips stored on the Thunderbolt drive attached to the Mac Mini, sounds GREAT!
Follow Ups:
You must have used the audio-grade wi-fi propagating floor/ceiling system.

That can't be even 20 feet.Everything else is Ethernet or TOSLINK (Airport Express to the DAC).
Now listening to CD rips stored on a Thunderbolt drive via iTunes running 'Bit Freaking Perfect', yet! =:-0
