For several reasons I have to convert my music files to a single format before I can use hard drive for a music source for a community radio show.
The files are nearly all FLAC and WAV with a few MP3 and M4A.
I want to convert the MO3 and M4A to WAV (preferably
or FLAC.
If anyone can recommend a decent converter I'd very much appreciate it.
I seem to remember I used to have one years ago but that's also several computers ago and now I have no idea what I used to have.
Thanks in advance.

Haven't tried it myself, though:

For a single file it looks great. I tried it out and it is straightforward and perfectly good.
but...
... it seems as if you have to add each file separately and so if I wanted to convert several thousand it would be a bit of a nightmare.
If anyone knows where there is a control for batches, please let me know.
dBPoweramp comes with an easy to use file converter that will switch between formats. It also will do batch conversion, either all the files in one directory or for selected directories.
Best way to use it: Try converting a file first to make sure it's working the way you want. Then try converting an entire directory (album) and make sure that's the way you want it. Then try converting several albums to double check this. Then select your entire library and let her rip...
I you have a huge library, you may want to do blocks overnight if you need to use your computer for other things during the day.

I have the oddest feeling I used to have that years ago.
Thanks again for the recommendation.
This might be what I has years ago, but it feels different.
I made a couple of false starts, mainly because I forgot to look to see how to delete the original files and was thus piling up doubles.
But within 20 minutes I had it downloaded and sorted and running.
I've done about 5,000 files/tracks today and will hit it big time tomorrow.
