If you are streaming let's say Tidal from a MacBook pro and the Midi output setting is set to 192,000hz is the tidal signal being upsampled?
How do you bypass Midi?

Amarra for TIDAL. I'm using it with nice results.
I finally got it going. It really sounds excellent. Isit better then the Tidal player going thru the Midi setup? Well it is certainly different. I've got the 30 day trial so I should be able to make up my mind.

Cool...it takes some setting up. Manually select your artist's and albums using search. But be sure they are getting saved. Then use the Scan function in set up. Pick the maximum scan...but do it when going to sleep or something as it can take hours...all of this- if you have not already. Then be sure to use the EQ function. Very good EQ. With the ability to set your own.
btw, i nothing to do with amarra. I use Audirvana Plus for playing files...they have an app now. Must say though...TIDAL sounds very good for streaming. Even wireless. With almost limitless music. Which is the real reason anyway...
I downloaded a trial of Amarra for Tidal and having nothing but trouble. I go to My Music and it only brings up four albums out of 35. And when I try to play one nothing happens. Crap!!!

Finally got it working. Bypassing the Midi setup seems to improve the sound

Like QOBUZ and DEEZER Elite?
Thanks
I will try it

I send to to my OPPO DAC/Headphone amp via USB at 44.1/16 using the MIDI setup. OPPO display confirms this.Right now I'm outputting DEEZER Elite to my main system via AirPlay (Horrors!).
It SAYS Airplay Marantz:(NA7004), 44.1/16 and gives me no options to change anything.

My problem is besides Tidal I stream Classicsonline HD-LL which has files up to 24/192. If I set Midi to 44khz it will downsample those files. If I set Midi to 192khz it will upsample 16/44 Tidal files to 192khz. I don't want the computer doing this up and down sampling. I would like if possible to bypass Midi but don't know how
Alan
I keep MIDI setup open in my tray as I switch between AirPlay and USB while streaming QOBUZ, TIDAL and DEEZER Elite and the players from the various manufactures are forever forgetting what they are supposed to do.
Have to re-boot QOBUZ every time I make a change, it seems.
That said, a couple clicks and I'm back to to where I want to be.
Didn't think of keeping it open
Thanks
Alan
I don't use 'hi-res' streaming services but for local music file playback there are several players that do automatic sample rate switching. I'm not positive whether these work on streaming services or just local files. You might want to investigate Audirvana Plus, Pure Music, Amarra, and others. Or just manually set the sample rate in Audio MIDI Setup to match what you're playing.
I just do streaming. If I set for Tidal then I have to change for Claasicsonline. I guess I can do that if I can't bypass Midi
