Thanks very much. The Wal wart power supplies are of course a concern.
Those are good choices you linked.
I do own a Keces DC-16 I used to use with my Squeezebox. What do you think of those?

Very nice. I read about the KECES DC-116 while researching regulated linear power supplies. I reckon that particular dual output PSU would be ideal for your project.
Thank you. Although I must say the ones you linked look great, and I like the displays.
So this whole experiment thing is MUSHROOMING, just like I said, you have to address all those extra variables you are adding to the audio equation. A simple do-hicky thing is turning into a multi-hundred dollar odyssey.
By the time you add up the cost of all the ancillary stuff to make this thing sound decent, including all the other gadgets in the digital chain you could have bought a AudioNote Dac 4 fully loaded.
I might not rub your belly to give you a nice fuzzy feeling all over but your response to Dusters suggestions of upgrading power supply and power cord etc. tells me that you acknowledge that what I say is true.

Just STOP it.
Multi Hundred???
I have spent a total of $110.
I already have an external XPS I bought a few years ago. How am I spending more exactly?
Stop projecting YOUR negative viewpoint on everybody else. You are a black cloud.
Okay okay I'll stop.
I'm trying to help you and this is the thanks I get....sheeesh

I fully appreciate it when Audio Asylum Inmates are willing and able to experiment with new devices and methods. One of the stipulations of being an amiable poster is to cut people some slack, and not try to save people from themselves. Fear of being attacked by other posters is likely the number one reason why lurkers don't post in AA. As far as I'm concerned, AA has entered a steep decline of posters and topics in recent times, and it won't last unless more folks in the world decide to be an AA Inmate. Sometimes AA seems like it's an audio club full of grouchy old men.
my 2 cents
He'll be okay...hopefully he is not so sensitive as to take everything personal, my posts were light hearted fun.
Actually from the history of posts we have he has insulted and called me names more than I can shake a stick at...
