For the record..in regards to AQ..I spent 3 weeks with 3 tiers of their Ethernet cable.
BTW, love the term "non experiental".
Follow Ups:
Non-audiophiles and anti-audiophiles, who can't even grasp a concept of looking at someone's opinion on audio through the prism of his audiophile experiences - polluting this space with their useless verbal (written) diarrhea.
I would agree that anti audiophile stances are common, and based on what folks "think" is possible or may make a difference.
The only defense I can offer is that some audiophile product marketing makes certain companies easy targets for cynics and those with hair trigger snake oil meters.
there is no reason for posting pink cats at his age.
To mine, at least.
I'm not quite sure what exactly his beef is with me - but if I had to guess, in his mind, he "sticks up" for his poor buddy from Apple brotherhood.
Probably hopes to get another hand-me-down Oppo for his efforts. Or may be even a Sony, if he's relentless enough.
in sound quality.
Both logic and experience suggest there are way too many variables involved when attaching a cable between two boxes, ESPECIALLY where audio is involved, to rule out anything.
I also do not necessarily believe that what makes a great HIGH SPEED ethernet cable automatically makes for a great ethernet cable for audio purposes, especially when attaching to a piece of audio gear.
And I have little faith that a $1000 ethernet cable is automatically better based on its price alone.
With or without the masking tape.
Proof is in the listening and I await the result of anyone on this forum who wishes to write a check and write up a review.
I can tell you that if I could fine a source to purchase, at no risk, the Acoustic Revive Ethernet cables, as I did with the AQ cables, I would. I'm totally open to their take.
I believe other cable companies have not entered this mine field because they have not been able to design a cable that would justify the effort.
I know that WireWorld is introducing what they claim is a totally unique and "game changing" ethernet cable.
Do you seriously believe that a "sales based" audio company can "design" an Ethernet cable?

Wireworld® Starlight® CAT7a Media Network Cable:
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (12/31/14) -
Wireworld Cable Technology, one of the world's most respected brands of high performance audio and video cables, is announcing the development of
Category 7a cables for high speed media network applications. Unlike all other CAT7a cables, these innovative cables utilize a new internal
structure developed by Wireworld to provide higher transmission speed for the most lifelike reproduction of streamed music and video.
"Media networks have become the backbone of modern home entertainment systems," comments Wireworld President and founder David Salz. "Starlight's superior transmission speed and reduced noise provide clear improvements in sound and image quality." Starlight's internal design provides greater separation between the four conductor pairs to provide lower crosstalk, supporting higher transmission speeds than previous designs. The cable also utilizes Wireworld's proprietary Composilex® 2 insulation to minimize triboelectric noise.
Factory terminated Starlight 7a cables will feature state-of-the-art Z-Max RJ45 plugs by Siemon Corporation, world leader in multi-gigabit network cable technology. The refined transmission properties afforded by the combination of these technologies ensures uncompromised performance in the next generation of streaming applications.
"Design" may have been the wrong word. Produce is more like it. My electrician can build one in 10 minutes if I ask him too. I can put a nice jacket on it, give it a cool name like "Martini" and I'm gold. :)
