The thing about JRiver is that they're quite convinced that their product - and especially their playback engine - is the absolutely best thing in the world.
As comical as it may sound, especially for those who know better, it most likely means that they're not in business of creating a client for someone else's playback engine - under Linux or otherwise.
Which, of course, doesn't mean that they won't expand into Linux one day - but you can be positive it's going to be their own solution, not as client for MPD.

JRiver is already available in various Linux distros guys.
