FMAK.
Do you still own the SMSL M8?
I just read that the newest firmware allows to toggle the "auto-off" feature on/off by pressing the power button for 2s.
Can you confirm this?
Can you update the firmware yourself?
Thx
Follow Ups:
Mine doesn't turn off except on the button, which is how I like it.
Where is the new firmware and do you knw of update to XMOS 2.26. This sounds better on my WaveIO and allows buffers to be adjusted in the CPL
Fred.
Two more questions.
I might want to give that device a try,
if I can handle it without touching it.
1. Is there auto-signal-sensing on the DAC
I would like to to hookup my TV via Toslink and my RPI via USB.
The input should switch automatically, based on signal availability.
I don't want to switch inputs manually.
2. ON/Off switch
Is that switch mechanical or electronic? Does the switch remains in
"On" position, if you pull the plug and put it back in.
Background: All my electronics (hidden in a closed cabinet) get turned on by a single mains switch. I won't be able to turn the DAC On manually.
Thx
1. Press button for input change
2.Momentary switch
Thx. I guess I have to look for alternatives then.
"...where is the new firmware..."
I read about the subject on Amazon.com.
I'd be surprised if you'll be able to update the firmware yourself.
If your device is on all the time, you might have the new firmware installed already. You could try to enable auto-off function by pushing the power-button for 2s.
