as I running AirPlay from QOBUZ to the NA-7004 via Ethernet before my pre-amp blew.
The noise associated with the AC Plug Ethernet kluge reared its ugly head when I went with a new tube preamp.
Not a bit-perfect kind of guy as I am willing to accept that Lossless FLAC streaming ain't perfect.
Just better than 320kbps MP-3 would be fine(which it was before).
Follow Ups:
AirPlay to the NA-7004 should keep the stream at 16/44.1k, and at 100% volume and no equalizer, it might even be bit perfect. Whereas the Apple TV will convert to 16/48k.
You no longer have the Marantz?
and the listening room is on a third level (loft). Yeah, did a massive remodel (added a story) to a 60 year old home just a few years ago and didn't think to have the house wired for Eithernet.
Tried Eithernet through the AC lines of the house and it worked great till I replaced the preamp. Now the digital stream is 'dittybopping' away in the background any time it's streaming through the AC lines to the NA-7004.
USB works fine buy lugging the labtop upstairs any time I want to hear something on the main system (used for vinyl mostly) is a pain.
