I have Ethernet jacks in every room of my house. Wired up.

or not.
the wireless doesn't have a strong signal after modification, I could not setup the wireless connection with my iPad, that low signal. So I suggest if you get this thing to get yourself a couple of switches, run Ethernet under your carpet all around the house, a couple of switches and you will then be cool.
a floor away from the office with the hub.
When you say wireless doesn't work well after the mod, are you saying wireless with home WiFi or the SONOS Bridge?
i would honestly advise against wireless completely. I had my iPad a foot away and it didn't see the sonos during setup. Lucky I have network switched all over the place going around 3 floors. It's f*cking radio shack in my house if you know what I mean. I wired the house with Ethernet, netgear switches on a 35/35mbps fiber connection.Could also be that the wireless turns off when you plug in Ethernet , W4S recommends the sonos being close to the WAP. I will not test it however. I hate wireless.

Works like a champ and yes, I have TIDAL running on it and it works perfect.
Too perfect as my wife plays internet radio on it all day! :-(
But I need some way of getting QOBUZ/TIDAL/DEEZER up to the main system without lugging my computer upstairs and hooking it up to the streamer with a 10 meter USB cable.
ok, get the stock Sonos Connect and get a reclocker.
I was going to get the separate reclocker wyred for sound makes first (I think it is about $400), but noticed the mod uses low noise power supply so I went with the mod because I'm dedicated to Sonos now. The system is magnificent, if your wife uses it that is an idea about how great the system is. Not to knock on your wife (I don't have a wife, I wish I did), but women tend to be impatient with things that don't go smooth (could also be why I don't have a wife, haha).
:)
I put a link to the reclocker w4s makes below:
If that's the case, an I am assuming that it's the optical output of the Apple TV of which they speak, does that mean an Apple TV will work as an AirPlay receiver for audio only (no video)?
At $99 Apple TV might be the best way to get QOBUZ up to my main system via WiFi?
Then I'd have to buy a TV for the listening room. :-(
