Thanks! Very helpful.

Ur welcome!
There is certainly more than one way to skin a cat...my approach is what I prefer..and that is the path of least resistance, superb sonics, and ease of access to my library. I use free tools like XLD, MiniMserver, and Xact, save 60% of my hard drive space by using FLAC, and I have total isolation between my computer and my DAC.
Of course, YMMV.
Yes, I quite like your approach. There's great appeal in having one library and being able to play in multiple locations with great sound. And using free tools is great
My sticking point library management & play control. I tried again Apple's iPad Remote app and, unless I'm doing something wrong, I found it quite hard to navigate through > 1500 tracks composed by JS Bach. Something like the column browser in iTunes would be helpful. I need to investigate if other remote apps are more akin to what I like.
Well I really like when manufacturers write their own apps..like Simaudio and Bryston did. They are in tune with the hardware and it just works.
I can post screen shots of the MiND app with classical titles later this week.
Others I use are Audionet, MConnect, and Denon. There are some very good premium ones as well.
Thanks! Screenshot would be helpful. Which of the iPad apps, including premium ones, do you think are best for browsing classica?
