OMG . First day streaming through aries and new Rega DAC-R. So far these streams are blowin' away the same CDs. Contoling with iPad .

A couple recommendations -
Either wire CAT7 cable (I'm using Audioquest Vodka) from the modem to router all the way to Aries...or put one CAT7 cable between your modem and wi-fi router and go wireless...it will make a big difference!
Also I've found the Aries needs footers below it and weight on top...I'm using mapleshade footers and I had a few extra brass weights that I put on top. Use pennies in a ziplock bag if you have nothing else.
Have fun with it...I've been streaming Tidal for 3 months now and can't stop...and I consider myself a vinyl guy (or I did...it's not as good sounding but so satisfying and my library just grew by 25 million tracks!)
to the same REGA DAC and streaming TIDAL from the Auralic Aries to the REGA DAC?
Haven't done enough streaming from computer to compare. Went straight to the Aries.
Mine is coming next Tuesday. I have a question. I know Tidal is supported by Tidal. I have been playing around with a streaming site with my laptop called Classicsonlinehd.com. Will I be able to stream this site with the Auralic or only sites supported by Auralic? Also do you have a direct connection to the internet or are you using WIFI?

Don't know if Aries will stream classics online. I'm using Ethernet wired to router.
How are you playing the same CDs, through a separate CD player or streaming to the Aries from a computer or NAS?
I'm just curious because my Linn streamers sound better streaming CDs from my NAS than streaming from Tidal.
But in the case of popular recordings which have been remastered and/or remixed over and over, Tidal doesn't usually identify which version they're serving up. Sometimes it's obvious when listening, but sometimes not. So in some cases, my preference for local streaming from my NAS might actually reflect a preference for one mastering over another.
Separate CD player . I have not ripped CDs yet. I have hi-rez downloads on a MyPassport I might compare next.
