Just tried the JPlay 6 beta in conjunction with Fidelizer Pro. The sound is just incredible! I am a cellist and I listen to mainly classical music. It sounds so much more organic compared to JPlay 5xx. Not that JPlay 5xx is sluggish to start with. The v6 beta has so much more shadings and micro dynamics in the whole frequency spectrum. I am listening to Mischa Maisky playing the Bach Cello Suites as I am writing this. The rendering of the cello is just mind boggling. I used to own a whole DCS stack and I must say this is by far the most palpable and life like cello sound from an audio system using digital source!Just to add some perspective, the playback chain includes:
source: foobar, JRiver 19, JPlay 6 beta in conjunction with Fidelizer Pro;
processor: Teac UD501
pre-ampflier: Pass Labs X2
power amplifier: Mark Levinson 431
loudspeakers: Magneplaner 1.7
cables: assortment of Van Den Hul; XLO; JPS Labs; Kimber

Initial listening: I'm impressed. Running Fidelizer Pro 6.5 / Extremist as well.
Will try a variety of setting tomorrow.
I just set up Foobar and MonkeyMote Remote for iPad. Everything seems to work well. Will do some listening to the beta this weekend.

think archimago measured that all players sound the same and he also has a UD501, are you sure you're not hearing things ? oops, mean't imagining things.

Listening to this with the SOEKRIS DAC with Wave IO and files upsampled on the disk (not on the fly) due to filter problems yet resolved by the designer. The sound is quite amazing.
Have not been listening to digital at all for two years, LP only, and I know this is a little too early to make pronouncements but what I am hearing is as valid a presentation of music as my turntable setup.
Different, yes, but who wants it all to sound the same? Not me. I joke that I was suffering from analogue fatigue!
These fellow on really on to something.
Using a dedicated music computer. I do not know what to think of network connections between two computers. One computer, it will remain. Using the built in miniplayer, all I want or need.
I don't really want to change anything from SQ perspective (Foobar 0.8.3 via Jplay 5 in Hibernate mode), but another big reason is my absolute need to retain my foobar playlists that I have developed over many years..
You should be able to upgrade to JPlay 6 from JPlay 5xx without any issue. I fully understand why you'd like to retain the foobar playlists. I set up mine much the same way with hundreds and hundreds of albums as playlists over the years. It is imperative to keep them. Ah oh, always give Josef & Marcin a shout if you encounter any problems at all. They are just the nicest and most helpful tech guys out there! Great service for the audiophile community.
