and thankfully I don't, it would be a Lenovo, like the ThinkPad X-1 Carbon pictured above.
Follow Ups:
Yes, the X1 Carbon looks great but to get it configured the way I want, it would cost more than a comparably configured MacBook Air.
But if I HAD TO get a PC laptop I would take a serious look at the X1 Carbon (latest gen).
"News broke last night that Lenovo has been shipping laptops with a horrifically dangerous piece of software called Superfish, which tampers with Windows' cryptographic security to perform man-in-the-middle attacks against the user's browsing. This is done in order to inject advertising into secure HTTPS pages, a feature most users don't want implemented in the most insecure possible way."

Talk about pre-loaded crapware on PCs for users to struggle with, this Superfish takes the cake! The net is all a buzz with this latest crapware by Chinese PC company Lenovo. This is pretty serious stuff:
Also on Friday, the US Department of Homeland Security warned that the Superfish software introduces a "critical vulnerability," and it issued its own instructions for removing the spyware from Lenovo computers.
Superfish said Friday that it is working with Microsoft and Lenovo on a fix, and minimized concerns by the government and security researchers.
Amazing what PC companies are up to.

"On Wednesday evening, following several lengthy Twitter discussions about the overlooked behavior, security researcher Chris Palmer bought a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro for $600 at a San Francisco Bay Area Best Buy store. He quickly confirmed that the model was pre-installed with the Superfish software and self-signed key."
That's this week as the story just broke and this piece was published yesterday.

Here's Lenovo's one-click uninstaler: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/product_security/superfish_uninstall
on its computers in order to increase profits?
Some good news though...
"In its latest update to Windows Defender, Microsoft has removed Superfish’s certificate entirely, which one hopes will completely nuke the program’s ability to run on Windows."

That stripped own little box doesn't have room for crapware! That's why.
Not that Macs are completely immune to malware and viruses, I have yet to experience even one in my 7 years on Mac w/o any anti-virus software.
My government customers who sometimes purchase x86 servers from IBM will no longer do so as IBM recently sold their x86 server business to Chinese company Lenovo. Same for laptops as IBM sold their PC business to Lenovo several years ago.
Before switching to Mac I favored the sturdy IBM StinkPad series as I affectionately called it. ;-)

Never liked IBM servers. Always recommended DEC and then after that Compaq.
