I wonder if a separate USB 3.0 pci adapter could give any advantage or it would be just unnecessary
In this way the usb ports would have a dedicate controller on board
These cards are extremely cheap as well

You really don't need USB 3 for a DAC as USB 2 will work fine. Plus there are no USB 3 DACs out there. Your computer should have a USB 2 port that does not share it's controller with other USB devices. You can check for this within Windows on your computer. If you find it easier to just add another USB card, that should work too.
I wouldn't bother with Firewire at this point. It made sense a few years ago.

Actually i have not experienced drops in the signal or similar problems
I will focus on OS. There is even a Win 10 coming soon ...
Maybe it will be spectacular for audio
